They of course want to monitor this, especially since one of the complications of being on a bypass machine is to have an acute kidney reaction shortly after surgery. The best newsconcerning the acute kidney problem is most often a short term treatable/recoverable issue. The Cardiologists & Kidney specialists will monitor her closely in the Cardiac ICU after surgery for any kidney complications.
More later after we meet with the Cardiac Surgeon.
I'm hoping for you and Olivia that this doesn't turn into "New Day, New Concern". My goodness after what you've gone through already, you don't need that!
ReplyDeleteI hope that tomorrow's surgery brings some well oxygenated blood around that little body, which in turn will keep these wierd problems in check.
There are lots of potential problems to all these procedures etc. and one can easily scare one's self into believing that they'll *all* happen, in spite of the fact that you know they won't.
Good vibes coming your way ... and some going to the teams doing the surgery tomorrow.
Wishing you all the best to come tomorrow! All us mom's of heart babies will be pulling for you and your family. When Roman had his surgery we called it his second birthday. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteSara and I were just talking about Olivia needing to celebrate 2 birthdays on the way back to the Hospital today.
ReplyDeleteOh btw Kelleyn - Olivia is just having a shunt tomorrow. If all goes well, complete repair in about 6 months.
