Rythms are good, Urine output is increasing, Chest drainage is normal. Heart no need for pacing machine. Hopefully this contibues through the night. As long as things continue to look stable we'll try to get a longer night's sleep than yesterday.
The plan is to try and close her chest Monday, as long as she continues to urinate well and get rid of her excess fluid.
Earlier Olivia woke up a little while Sara was with her, opened her eyes and was looking around. Our little Peanut Diva is still there, underneath/behind all the tubes and wires.
Keep up the good work Olivia, slow and steady wins the prize.
Great news! Give her a kiss for us!

I found your post on the Tender Hearts group site and wanted to check in on Olivia. She will be in my prayers. My son just had a device closure procedure last month to close a very large atrial septal defect. Modern medicine is miraculous! May God give you strength as you navigate through this.

What you describe is beyond a doubt good news! Stability is good!
ReplyDeleteSleep for mummy and daddy is definitely a good idea! Although, I wouldn't recommend hydromorphone as a sleep aid (I had some in the hospital) ... gives some weird nightmares. I was reading a Patricia Cornwell book to pass the time of day ... that night, I invented two new chapters for the book, which somehow included me! And they weren't pleasant!
I can now follow from work so I am happy I dont have to miss or wait until I get home. Mommy and Daddy try to get some rest tonight. Olivia is being watched over by so many people who love her.
ReplyDeleteYou go little Olivia!! Keep fighting!! We will keep you and your parents in our prayers and will look forward to giving you a hug in person one day (assuming our little diva thinks that is okay!)
ReplyDeleteLots of love,

Reading through all this tears me up, I can't imagine what you are going through.

the great thing about kids, as emin always says, is that they're resilient b/c their fundamental orientation is to grow. unlike what happens as we age... so -- biology -- what to think? nature? what to make of it? and our efforts to intervene? it's a delicate dance... so suck in those tummies, everyone find their center, and let's dance w the greatest amount of grace that we can muster.
ReplyDeleteWonderful news! God bless you little Olivia - can't wait to meet you!! :-)
